Funeral for Albert Eugene Tackett, 83, of Decatur will be today, March 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's BrownService Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Reeves and the Rev. Wallace Willingham officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Mr. Tackett, who died Monday, March 5, 2007, was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Huntsville to L.M. Tackett and Ocie Tackett. He was a retired maintenance worker. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Tackett enjoyed all types of music, was a songwriter and enjoyed doing artwork. He will long be remembered for his fun-loving ways and unforgettable smile. His parents, and one daughter, Naomi Tackett Jacobs, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dessie Tackett; one son, L.C. Tackett and his wife, Wanda, of Hartselle; two daughters, Wanda Kimbril and Jenell Tackett, both of Decatur; three grandchildren, Tina Priess of Hartselle, Chuck Kimbril of Tennessee and Shane Kimbril of Hartselle; and four great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Bethany Kimbril, both of Hartselle, Chaz Kimbril of Tennessee and Jacob Priess of Hartselle.
