Alene Mitchell Ray's Obituary
Alene Mitchell Ray, age 88, of Florence, died on Saturday June 27, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be on Monday June 29, 2009 at 2 pm in the chapel of Elkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on that day from 12 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ray was a native of Lauderdale County and a retired secretary with TVA after 36 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence. Mrs. Ray is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Wright Mitchell; her sister, Era Mae Walton; and her brother, R. C. Mitchell.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Villard Ray of Florence; her sisters, Vellaree D. Jackson and Annette Carroll; her brother, Ralph Mitchell and wife Ruby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church of Florence.
