Funeral for Alfred Harrison James, 78, of Trinity will be Friday, June 15, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Ridout's BrownService Funeral Home with David Barker and David Markwell officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. James, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, was born March 31, 1929, in Lawrence County to H.V. James and Allie Mae James. He retired as an electrical engineer from the U.S. Army Missile Command and was a veteran of the Korean War serving 13 years in the U.S. Navy. He was an Elder at Midway Church of Christ. His brother, Tommy V. James, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rachel Fuller James; three sons, Jerry James and his wife, Jan, of Decatur, Harry James and his wife, Benita, and Brent James and his wife, Beth, all of Trinity; one sister, Juanita Terry; six grandchildren, Magen James Willingham, Krissy James Houtman, Christopher James, Kellie James, Allyson James and Chandler James; and two great-grand-children, Blane and Molly Willingham. Memorials may be made to Asera Care Hospice of Decatur.
