Alice Bolton Patton Nolen, preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brown Nolen, died Sunday, March 30, 2014. Funeral services for Alice will be Tuesday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Reverend Andrew Keyse officiating. Burial will follow in The Florence City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Trinity Episcopal Church at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Born on May 7, 1924 in Athens, Alabama, Alice was the daughter of Roy Bolton and Irene Foscue Patton. She graduated from The University where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
Alice was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, The Florence Supper Club, The Florence Study Club, and The National Society of Colonial Dames in America. Alice and Bob were famous for hosting parties on Clear Creek Farm. From dinner parties to The Church Picnic, the Farm was always full of friends and family.
Alice is survived by her children, Cruse Nolen Bevill (Don), Lonsdale Nolen Glennon (Jimmy), and Robert Brown Nolen, Jr. (Lydia); grandchildren, Elizabeth Glennon Fillebaum (Kurt), James Andrew Glennon, Jr. (Brooke), Julia Lonsdale Bevill, Cruse Nolen Bevill, Emily Cruse Nolen, and Allison Jean Nolen; great-grandchildren, James Andrew Glennon III and William James Fillebaum; and sister, Cruse Patton Clark.
She was preceded in death by David Uriah Patton, Roy Bolton Patton, Jr., and Irene Patton Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church for the Minister''s Discretionary Fund, in thanksgiving for Andy''s faithful ministry to Alice.
