Allen A. Pearce, age 70, of Speake, left this earth for his home in Heaven on Wed. April 20, 2016. Funeral Service for Mr. Pearce will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Speake. Burial will follow in Speake Family Cemetery. Brother Wayne Turner will officiate and Elliott,s Brown Service Funeral Home will be directing. Visitation will be at the Church from 12:00 noon until service time.
He was born March 24, 1946 in Cullman, AL to John S. Pearce and Wilma Hampton Pearce. He was preceded in death by his parents. Allen worked in electronics at Monsanto / Solutia, retiring after 34 years. Following that he worked a variety of jobs for entertainment and enrichment. He was presently employed at Farmers Coop in Moulton. Allen was very interested in politics and served for several years on Flint City Council. Coaching Little League Baseball with his friend Ken Wilson was one of his greatest joys. Allen served as an inspiration and role model for the teams he coached. As an avid reader his knowledge of current events and history, especially the Civil War and World War II, was extensive. He was a man of integrity with his own unique style. Allen was a Christian from a very young age and he was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was very involved in his Church and his community. Allen practiced his beliefs in everyday life. Allen will be Greatly missed.
In his Son Tony's own words, "Today the world lost a great man. He was a Father, Grandfather, and Mentor to many. He Loved his Family and Friends with all his heart. He would let nothing stand in the way of taking care of his family."
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Donna McCay Pearce. He is survived by his Son, Anthony A. Pearce and his Daughter, Rebecca Pearce Burns (John). Three Grandchildren: Chris Pearce, Zak Pearce and Rylie Burns. Two Sisters: Sarah Lark (Gary) and Martha Gray (Rick).
