Funeral service for Alma Christine Waldrop, 81, of Decatur will be Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Waldrop, who died Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital, was born May 19, 1930, in Lawrence County to Frank Cleveland Franks and Era Steed Franks. She was a member of Old Moulton Road Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Waldrop and Howard Thrasher; her children, Betty Waldrop, Billy Waldrop and Terry Waldrop; three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include one son, Perry Waldrop and wife, Janice; two brothers, Troy Franks and Hoyt Franks; three sisters, Olene Wahlmeier, Merle Lacy and Ruby Truitt; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
