Funeral for Alpha Logan Byars, 77, of Moulton will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Goodlett and John Byars officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Byars, who died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Lawrence County to George and Bessie Stewart Byars. He was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard. He loved his Lord and loved being around people. He was an avid reader and loved to collect figurines and go to flea markets. He also loved traveling with Inos and visiting family and friends. Most of all, he loved his wonderful children and grandchildren. They could always put a smile on his face. His wife, Nadine McMillan Byars, preceded him death. Survivors include Inos Letson Byars; two daughters, Alphadean Lewis and her husband, Alan, and Shirley Bishop and her husband, Scottie; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, numerous friends and neighbors. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
