Alvin Miller Cox, a 95 year old Marine Corps WW2 veteran passed away Wednesday evening, June 22 due to complications from COVID. He retired from Reynolds Alloys after 28 years of service. He was a devout member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Virginia Hale Cox and son-in-law Bobby Latchem. He is survived by 4 children (Nancy Cox Cox (Larry), Peggy Cox Latchem, Randy Alvin Cox (Georgia) and Timothy Wayne Cox (Shannon), 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1.5 great-great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to the outstanding caregivers that filled his last few months with love and blessings! In the words of Mr. Cox "I love you Natasha, Glenda, Beth, James, Ms. Dub and Shannon, and thank you for all that you do"!
Also, a special thank you to the outstanding staff at Keller Memorial Hospital on the 4th floor and those in the ICU!
Visitation will be Saturday morning (6/25) at Elkins Funeral Home on Hermitage Drive, Florence from 9:00-10:00 am followed by a graveside service in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens at 10:30 am.
