Amanda "Doreen" Phillips age 89 of Florence passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence from Noon until 2:00 P.M. Services to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Kevin Black officiating. Burial will be at Florence City Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Vernon Dean Phillips Sr. Her parents Allen and Maggie Butler and a daughter Brenda Phillips.

Doreen is survived by her children Linda Wiley (Jimmie), Vernon Phillips Jr., Margaret Varner, and Terry Steven Phillips (Sheila). Grandchildren Dennis Wiley (Regina), Kathy Young (Kelly), Kerry Baker (Sam), Tammy Brackin, Patrick Smith (Michelle), Michael Varner (Linda), Lyne Richey, Vernon Phillips III (Stacey) and Stephanie Abston (Tyler). Eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. And her beloved cat Cindy.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
