Arnold G. (Curley) Holden, 85, of Killen died Saturday, November 5, 2011, at his residence. Visitation will be Monday, November 7, 2011, at Elkins East Chapel from 5-9 PM. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 8, 2011, 1PM at Elgin Cross Roads Primitive Baptist Church, with Danny Holden and Bobby Collins officiating. Mr. Holden will lie in state from 12-1 PM at the church. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery. Mr. Holden retired after 36 years with Craig Construction Company, he was a member of the Carpenters Local 109 for 61 years. He was a Deacon at Elgin Cross Roads Primitive Baptist Church for many years. He and his wife were known as pa and ma Holden for many years. Mr. Holden was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Annie Holden; two brothers, George and Cleveland Holden. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Millinee Holden; three sons, Larry Holden (Diane), David Holden (Sue), and Anthony Holden; two sisters, Shirley Collins (Bobby) and Carolyn Thomas (Johnny); four brothers, Lelon Holden (Joyce), Jimmy Holden (Ellen), Dalton Holden (Brenda), and Mark Holden; nine grandchildren, Paula Gray (Smokey), Jessica Ledlow (Marty), Jermey Holden (Emily), Carol Hale, Melynda Goodson, Teresa Faulkner, Rodney Scott, Christy Mooney, and Bradley Hinton; fifteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; nine nieces and eleven nephews. Pallbearers will be Garry Holden, Derrick Holden, Jeremy Holden, Lucas Hale, Curt Smith, and Marty Ledlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Elgin Cross Roads Primitive Baptist Church.
