Arnold Aaron English, 87, of Killen passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Killen.
Mr. English served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed in Hawaii where he guarded prisoners. Upon his discharge, he worked briefly at Elkins Funeral Home before becoming a Lineman with TVA where he worked for 39 years. After retirement he worked as a security guard for Brown Engineering in Huntsville.
He is survived by his son, Neil English and wife, Carol; five grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" English and six brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
