Beatrice Carroll Montgomery 1922 - 2012
Beatrice Elaine Carroll Montgomery joined her husband of 51 years, Robert Carl Montgomery, in heaven on August 27, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born in Marion County, Alabama, on July 26, 1922 to M.J. and Eula Carroll. Visitation will be at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, from 6-8 pm. The funeral will be at 2:00pm on Friday, August 31, at Central Park Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Kay officiating.
She is survived by her sister, Sue Harvell of SC; five children, Janice (Bill) Bowman of SC; Linda McCarver, Bob, and Randy all of Decatur; and Ronnie (Bonita) of Hartselle; nine grandchildren, Carol (Steve) Wyndham, Diana (Victor) Lopez, Ellen (Mitch) Hayhurst, and Kathy (William) Herman, all of SC; Kim (Mike) Vickery, Angie (David) Wall, and Jenny Spain, Chase and Ben Vickery all of Decatur; Carly of Hartselle, and Clint (Juan Carlos) of Atlanta; eleven great grandchildren, Ryan & Brandi Chemielewski, Riley Herman, Elizabeth, Kathryn, & Jonathan Wyndham, and Blair Hayhurst, all of SC; Brittany (David) Soper of NC; Andie & Austin Wall and Landon Dye of Decatur; and two great great grandchildren, Peyton and McKenzie.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, James Carroll, daughter-in-law, Judi Montgomery, son-in-law, J.D. McCarver, and beloved grandson, Matt Spain.
MeMaw was a wonderful cook and loving wife and home maker for over 70 years who opened up her home to family and friends alike. Her cookies were legendary. She will be greatly missed by her Tuesday Morning Casino girls.
The family would like to thank Dr. L. Z. Naylor and the CCU & fourth floor nursing staffs at Decatur General Hospital for their compassionate care during her last days.
