Bettie Cole Welch, 86 of Florence, AL passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018.  She was a native of Florence, AL and was a member of Magnolia Church of Christ.  Bettie was a avid knitter and enjoyed teaching her craft at Weeden Elementary School and UNA Continuing Education.  She was a giver and always willing to volunteer when she saw a need. Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that will be missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 10-11:00 am at Elkins Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Joe Van Dyke officiating.  Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Welch, Jr.; son, John C Welch.

Survivors include her daughter, Lyn Duncan (Don) of Helena, AL; daughter-in-law, Carol Colcock (Heath) of Sheffield; grandchildren, James Duncan (Brittnie), Daniel Duncan (Dawn), Kati Wadsworth (Grant) and Brooks Welch; five great grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Hargrove of Madison, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
