Betty J. Davis, 81, of Lexington died Friday at Valley View Health and Rehab. Center in Madison, after an extended illness. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, 2:30PM at Lexington United Methodist Church, with Roy Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Pettus Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Billy Gene Davis; daughter-in-law, Ruth Vieve Davis; sister, Margaret Robertson; parents, Felix and O''Dell Pettus Joiner. She is survived by her son, Victor Davis (Mary Jo) of Huntsville; grandchildren, April Evelyn Davis and Jacob Clayborn Davis both of Huntsville; sister, Janet Machtoff Darcy of Sheffield; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Davis Cooper of Austin, TX and Rae Davis of Dayton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Jimmy Davis of Loretta, TN; one uncle, one aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Mrs. Davis was a 1948 graduate of Lexington High School; she was an employee of Bank of Lexington for several years; she work at NASA as a facility manager before retiring. She was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church and Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a lover of Music and Antiques. Pallbearers will be Ricky Robertson, John Robertson, Mike Machtoff, Jake Davis, John Creel, and Jimmy Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Burney, Bobby Calvert, Ted Hammond, Edward Howard, Clinton Killen, Bobby McGuire, Brad Porter, Billy Robertson, and A.L. Thompson.
