Funeral service for Betty Sue Garrett, 65, of Moulton, will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Forman officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Garrett, who died July 9th, 2011, was born July 4, 1946, to the late Bill Spencer Davis and Ella Davis. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She took her love for cooking into her career as a long time bakery employee at Ryan's restaurant before retiring. She spent many hours canning food from their garden to share with family.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Jean Ryan, Maelean Morgan, Helen Davenport, Williard Rittenberry and Linda Williams; and two brothers, Buddy Davis and Willie Davis.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Garrett; two daughters, Vickie Chittam (Brad) of Athens, and Susan Hokett of Moulton; two grandsons, Blake Hokett of Moulton and Collin Chittam of Athens; two great-grandsons, Jaxon Hokett of Georgia and Jaiden Hokett of Moulton; one sister, Shirley Creagh (Tom) of Michigan; one brother, Spencer Davis (Barbara) of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
