Obituary

Betty Jane Smith, 77, of Rogersville died Monday, July 07, 2014, at her residence.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Elkins East Chapel from 12-2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel with Bro. David McKelvey and Bro. Jackie Kay officiating. Burial will be at Barnett Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, loving wife, and mother. She graduated from Lexington High School. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Killen. She loved her Sunday School Class and Pastor. In her early years, she took great pride and joy in cleaning the church, teaching children''s Sunday School classes, and ministering quietly in so many ways. All of her energies were focused on loving and serving her precious husband and family. She loved gardening, cooking, working in her flower garden, and walking each morning. As she and Glyn lived their life over 58 years of marriage, and in her death, they clearly demonstrated a true example of a Godly and Biblical marriage.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Claudie and Katie Richardson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Glyn Smith; daughter, Regina Smith Neese (Jerry); son, Timothy Glyn Smith (Regina); three sisters, Lucy Michael (T), Esther Corum, and Kathy Smith; brother, Billy Richardson (Patty); five grandchildren, Kayla ReAnn Gooch (Caleb), Mitchem Glyn Smith, Anna Victoria Musgraves (Evan), Sara Kathryn Truitt, and Colin Christopher Truitt; seven nieces and six nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mitchem Smith, Colin Truitt, Caleb Gooch, Evan Musgraves, Jerry Neese, and Hollis Smith.
Special thanks to the sweet servants of ALACARE, Shannon, Jill, Deborah, Lauren, Violetta, April, Donna, and Rod, who ministered to our family.
