Betty Laverne Tate age 91 of Killen passed away Thursday January 31, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon till 2pm at Elkins East Chapel with services at 2pm in the chapel with Stan Dean and Andy Erwin officiating. Burial will be at Bluewater Cemetery.
Mrs. Tate was Born 11/28/1921 and was a Member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ since 1943. She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil "Dude" Tate, infant daughter Cecilia, son Steve Tate, parents Collins and Sally Tays Comer, five brothers and three sisters.
Betty was survived by a daughter in law, Wanda Tate. Three sons; Mark Tate and wife Sandra, Glenn Tate, and Kendall Tate and wife Donna. Grandchildren; Eric Tate and wife Meredith, Patrick Tate, Joni Tate, Ashley Snipes and husband J.D., Rachael White and husband Corey, Alyx Tate and Colin Tate. Great-grandchildren; Priscilla, Madeline and Ben Tate, Brantleigh, Briley, and Graham Snipes, Kassidy and Caraline White. Special niece Frances Watson she called her sister and Faye Bedingfield. Nephews; Larry Comer and Gene Comer. Special sister in law Irene Comer and Dorothy Howard. Special great niece Mary Francess Hancock.
Pallbearers will be Eric Tate, Larry Comer, Tim Yancey, Joel Alexander, Derrick Springer and Glenn Parker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ben Hancock, William Howard, Almon Watson , Doug Burchel, Greg Alexander and the Elders and Deacons at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
