Mrs. Bettye Joyce Canerday, age 80, of Florence, died Friday, January 2, 2009.
The graveside service will be held Sunday, January 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Matt Heupel will officiate. The family will receive friends at Elkins Funeral Home from 1:00-1:45 Sunday.
Mrs. Canerday was a member of the Woodlawn Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Pauline Stevenson, and by her husband, Willie Carrol Canerday, in 2006.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Crunk, Florence, Teresa Danley and husband Flynt, Florence, Sandra Treadway, Winchester, Tennessee, and Steve Canerday, Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Tara Mefford and husband Chuck, Florence, and Caroline Crunk, Huntsville; brothers and sisters Virginia Lovell, Florence, Jim Stevenson and wife Gail, Florence, Faye Stevenson, Florence, Neal Counce and husband Carl, Florence, Linda Jeffreys and husband Steve, Tuscumbia, and Ann Bevis, Florence; special friends Mario Dozal and Tony Ward and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mario Dozal, Tony Ward, Chuck Mefford, Terry Gist, Steve Perry, and Billy Ashley.
The family thanks Dr. Ricky Irons for many years of loving care and the nurses on 1st West at ECM Hospital for all their kindness.
