Mr. Bill W. Peeler, 94, of Florence, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010. He graduated from Central High School, and was a veteran of the Navy SeaBees. He was also a charter member of Highland Baptist Church, and retired as manager of Florence Electric Dept.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Goggans Peeler; sisters, Cleo Peeler Cox, and Tot Peeler Murphy; brother, Kenneth Warren Peeler; and parents, William and Henrietta Peeler.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Ann Patrick, husband Jerry G., of Florence, and Billie Dean Grogan, husband John D., of Alabaster, AL; grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Patrick, wife Gwen of Florence, Holly Ann Patrick, of Florence, Ryan Lee Patrick, wife Vicki of Eva, AL, Heather McWhorter, husband Barton of Helena, AL, and Matthew Grogan, wife Alisha of Hoover, AL; great-grandchildren, Lesley Patrick, Kevin Patrick, Summer Patrick, Ollie Patrick, Linkon Patrick, and Ireland Grogan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family offers special thanks to Dr. McFall, Dr. Webb, the nurses of ECM 6th Floor Palliative Care, and his caregivers, Regina Cole, Pat Curtis, and Pat Ashley.
Jerry Patrick, Kevin Patrick, Ryan Patrick, Barton McWhorter, Matthew Grogan, and Neal Davis will serve as pallbearers. The visitation for Mr. Peeler will be Monday from 10:30 - 11:30 am at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence. The graveside service will begin at 12 pm at Florence City Cemetery officiated by Bro. Chris Underwood.
