Billie Ruth Grubbs
Decatur In the early morning of Sunday, Jan. 24th, at 1:30 a.m., Billie Ruth Grubbs, 75, wife of James Grubbs, quietly was received into heaven to the loving arms of Jesus. Billie Ruth was loved by all, and she loved everyone. She enjoyed helping others, cooking delicacies for many, and giving and helping many different charities. Many family members and friends will miss their birthday cards sent faithfully every year. She and her husband of 52 years, James, have made their home in Decatur for the majority of their married lives. When Billie Ruth moved to Decatur to live with her father, Bill Piper, she attended cosmetology school. While living with her father, she met James and they married. When James, an Army veteran, was called to serve in Vietnam, Billie Ruth moved back to Collierville, Tennessee, where she had spent her childhood, and worked in Grace's Beauty Salon. When James was discharged, she moved back to Decatur where they have made many lasting and cherished friendships. Billie Ruth will be sorely missed by her husband, her close family and her many friends.
