Billy Gene Barkley, 82, of Florence died Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at NAMC.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 2021, 12-2 PM at Elkins Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Bro. Henry Melton officiating.  Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Barkley retired from Reynolds Metals as an alloy worker.  He was also a carpenter.  He was an avid Alabama fan and sports fanatic.  He was a member of Faith Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lee Barkley and son, David Laine Barkley; parents, Delmer and Jewel Barkley.

Mr. Barkley is survived by his son, Brent Barkley (special friend, Sherry Cochran); mother of Chance and Starr Barkley, Brenda L. Barkley; grandchildren, Chance Barkley (special friend, Crystal Wilson), Starr Barkley, and Taylor Barkley; great grandchildren, Andrew Barkley, Isabel Barkley, and Maelee Barkley.

Pallbearers will be Chance Barkley, Lee Walker, Bill Smith, Nathan Rackard, Steven Bright, and Glenn Thigpen.
