Funeral service for Billy Murray Chapman, 93, Decatur, will be Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Alan Watkins officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Chapman who died Thursday September 22, 2016 was born on July 10, 1923, in Morgan County to Auvy Washington Chapman and Minnie Myrtle Eakes Chapman. He was a member of Grant Street Church of Christ. He was retired from Wolverine Tube. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Military Honors will be given at the cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Christine "Chris" Chapman, two sons; Douglas M Chapman of Hartselle, and Donald A Chapman (Barbara) of Decatur, two grandsons; Bryan and Travis Chapman, one stepson; Walt Smith, two great-grandchildren, and one step-great-granddaughter..
