Funeral for Billy Bragg Cole, 80, of Decatur will be Friday, September 5, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Cameron Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Cole, who died Saturday, August 30, 2014, was born March 1, 1934, in Athens to Barney Cole and Verna Johnston Cole. He was an Elder of First Christian Church and was a Mason for at least 60 years. Mr. Cole was active in Youth League Baseball and worked for NASA for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha H. Cole; three sons, Nelson Bragg Cole (Michelle), Stephen Keith Cole (Karen) and James Barney Cole; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Cole, William Christopher Cole, Ashley Grace Cole and Cameron Taylor Cole.
