Funeral for Billy Edward Johnson, 82, of Decatur will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Todd Evans officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson, who died Monday, October 6, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born November 14, 1931, in Leoma, Tenn., to Jewett and Elzie Johnson. He retired from Marshall Space Flight Center with 31 years of service and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for 41 years where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Rex Edward Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Jacobs Johnson; three daughters, Rheda Brown and husband, Roy, Patty Dietz and husband, Mark, and Susan Walden and husband, Carl; daughter-in-law, Brenda Lewis Johnson; two brothers, Harless Johnson and J.V. "Pete" Johnson; two grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and John Dietz; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kayleb and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.
