Billy E. Petty's Obituary
Billy E. Petty, 86, of Florence passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Forest Grove Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, AL.
Mr. Petty was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from Motors Insurance Corporation after 30 years; he owned and operated four diet centers across North Alabama and he worked for Cobb Travel in Birmingham.
Survivors include daughters, Andrea Burch (David), Leslie Hosey (Eric); sons, Barry Petty (Mitzi) and Bryant Petty; grandchildren, Emma, Mitchell, Joshua, Jessica and Anna; great-grandson, Jason; sister, Peggy Deaton and brother, Charles Petty.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
