Billy Thomas Pointer Decatur Billy Thomas Pointer, 78, ended his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord. His funeral will be Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Mayes and Rev. Harold Fanning officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.Mr. Pointer died Monday, January 19, 2015, surrounded by his wife and loving family. He was born March 6, 1936, in Alabama to Orba A. Pointer and Jessie Nell Thomas Pointer. He retired from Fruehauf with almost 40 years of service. His parents preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Pointer; three daughters, Kay Pointer Clark, Cathy Matheny and husband, Bruce, Susan Jones and husband, Casey; five grandchildren, Kristi Hill and husband, Michael, Kevin Kitchens and wife, Melissa, Kaleb Jones, Jenna Jones and Jonathan Matheny; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Makenzie, Konner, Janie, Evan and Brooke.Pallbearers will be Michael Hill, Casey Jones, Kaleb Jones, Jonathan Matheny, Kevin Kitchens and Bruce Matheny.Honorary pallbearers will be Fruehauf retirees.Special thanks to Alacare Home Health and Hospice of Decatur.
