Funeral for Bobby Dean Perry, 73, of Decatur will be Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home with Benjamin Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7:30 at the funeral home. Mr. Perry, who died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his residence, was born May 7, 1934, in Sheffield to Henry Ervin and Annie Mae Edge Perry. He grew up in Vinemont and Cullman and graduated from Cullman City Schools and Auburn University. Mr. Perry worked with General Dyna-mics and NASA as an aeronautical engineer and was a civilian employee with the U.S. Military, winning many commendations and patents. He was the author of four books and the creator of beautiful art. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, H.T. Perry and Harry Perry. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nora Evelyn Odom Perry; three daughters, Jennifer Pritchett of Elsberry, Mo., Kim Rock of Sylvania, Ohio, and Grace Crabtree of Elsberry, Mo.; one son, Clint Perry of St. Louis, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Joyce Perry Hinson; and his brother, Donald Milburn Perry, both of Decatur. Pallbearers will be David Rock, Leon Pritchett, Don Crabtree, Ashley Perry Crabtree, Jonathan Crabtree and Bobby Crabtree.
