IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie N
Dison
April 4, 1950 – December 29, 2025
Bonnie N. Dison of Elgin Crossroads passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025, 11 AM to 1 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Bro. Stan Kiefer officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Athens, Alabama.
Mrs. Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Wenston Dison; son, Clifton Dison; mother, Virta Crunk; father, Porter Glover; brother, Roger Crunk; sister, Sandy Crabtree.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Yarbrough (Kenny) and Samantha Elam (James); grandchildren, Craig Yarbrough (Brianna), Caleb Yarbrough, Sara-Grace Robbins (Michael), Jacob Elam, and David Elam; great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae, Rylie Kate, and Leland and many, many adopted children.
Bonnie was born on April 4, 1950. She was an active member of Elgin Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, bluegrass music, and listening to several local church sermons online. She was known for cooking for everyone she met. If you had a need, surgery, death in the family, or simply asked for her recipe, you could expect a trunk loaded down with food, specially prepared for by Ms. Bonnie. She loved her family, her church and most of all Jesus. Her heart was broken five years ago at the passing of her husband. But today, through our sadness, we can rejoice at knowing she is in the presence of our Heavenly Father and reunited with the ones who passed before her.
Pat and Samantha would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses in the ICU department at Helen Keller. During the 17 days spent in the hospital, the nurses showed empathy and compassion. We were treated with love and the best care getting to know each one personally. Words cannot express our gratitude.
Pallbearers will be Craig Yarbrough, Caleb Yarbrough, Tim Dison, Terry Dison, Daniel Hollingsworth, and Anthony Hollingsworth.
