Brian Alan Collum, 38, of Florence passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at North Alabama Medical Center.

A private graveside service will be Friday at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.  Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. Collum attended UNA where he received his Masters Degree in Public Counseling and Bachelors Degree in Science of the Arts.  He was very active in sports, he played soccer for the Olympics prep team in Chattanooga, TN and all through high school at Coffee High School.  He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and rock climbing, snowboarding, and hiking.  He was known to all as a gentle soul.

Mr. Collum was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. Collum, Dean Collum, William Walters, and uncle Gregory Walters.

He is survived by his parents, Jan C. and Ella Collum; grandparent, Bernadette Walters; step children, Posie Vaughn, and Alyssea Vaughn; brother, Mark Collum; fiancé, Shonda Vaughn; two nephews, Grant and Griffin Collum; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
