Britta Carol Hughes, 70, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 6 ^th beginning at 6:30 pm at the Nelson Place, 905 County Road 57 in Florence, AL. This venue is adjacent to the Underwood Baptist Church where parking will be available.

Britta was a graduate of Coffee High School, UNA and UAB with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. She was retired from Helen Keller Hospital and was a loyal volunteer for PAWS as well as Loaves and Fishes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hassell and Louise Hughes. Survivors include her brother, Tim Hughes (Sabrina); niece, Rachael Armayor (John); nephew, Connor Hughes and a host of old friends that she considered family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS, Loaves and Fishes or the North Alabama Food Bank.

The Celebration of life will be an informal service and the family would love for Britta's friends to come and share their fondest memories of her.
