Burlie R. Stidham Jr. Decatur
Funeral for Burlie R. Stidham Jr., 91, of Decatur will be today, March 23, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Chapel with Mike Nix officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Mr. Stidham, who died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital, was born February 5, 1919, in Marion County to Burlie R. Stidham Sr. and Annie B. Barnwell Stidham. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was employed as a civil engineer with the Alabama Highway Department with 34 years of service. He was a member of Beltline Church of Christ. His wife, Virginia Balch Stidham, preceded him in death. Survivors include one son, Don Stidham and his wife, Ann; two brothers, Darius Stidham and Charles Stidham and his wife, Ruth; one sister, Anita Willison and her husband, Dean; two grandsons, Seth Stidham and Ryan Stidham and his wife, Brooke; and a special friend, Juanita Alexander. Memorials may be made to Beltline Church of Christ Haiti Fund, AGAPE Fund or Child Haven Fund.
