Cecil Lee “C.L.” Hubbard Jr., age 82, of Muscle Shoals, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 8, 2026, after an extended illness.

C.L. was a native of Lauderdale County. He attended Roger’s High School before serving in the Navy, where he found his love of barbering. After attending barbering school, he went on to work as a hair stylist for 50 plus years.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, and a beloved member of the communities of Lexington, Killen, and Muscle Shoals..

As a longtime member of Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lexington, he served as an elder, sang in the choir and served faithfully for many years. After moving to Killen, he joined First Baptist of Killen where he became active with the men’s Bible study group.

C.L. had a great love of cars and was a member of the Corvette club, enjoying many trips with the group. Purchasing knives and buying and trading guns was a lifetime hobby. The opportunity to go on the “Emmaus Walk” and travel to the Holy Land made a lasting impact on his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil L. and Sarah Hubbard and his brothers Paul Ray, Kenneth “Butch”, Ronald, “Ronnie” and Scott Hubbard and his sisters Joyce Terry, Janice Love, and Peggy Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Putman Hubbard and is survived by his daughter, Tammy Hubbard Davis, spouse, Wynn Davis and grandson Shelby Davis.

He is survived by his second wife, Sarah Montgomery Hubbard and her son Chrispin Montgomery, spouse, Jennifer Montgomery, his son Hunter Montgomery and special niece Amanda Welborn.C. L. and Keith Sandy were co-owners of Headmaster Styling Salon where he had the privilege of working with Mona Melton, Susan, Cochran, Jennifer, Kimbrell, Patsy Jordan Ward, Barbara Pate, and many others throughout the years.

Pallbearers will be Jr. Burleson, David Smith, Keith Putman, Robbie Pettus, Jeff Gentle and Stephen Love.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Killen from 11 to 1, with the service following. Burial will be at the Nebo cemetery.
