Graveside service for Calvis C. Garrett, 97, of Decatur will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Glenn Purdue officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Garrett, who died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his residence, was born July 23, 1917, in Eva. He retired from the Decatur City school system. His wife, Jewel Helms Garrett, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Thurman Calvis Garrett and wife, Marie, and Ellis Wayne Garrett and wife, Hilda; one daughter, Ella Garrett Robinson and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Regina Hayes and Tony Garrett; and one great-grandchild, Madison Emmerson.
