Funeral for Carl Sidney Green Jr., 86, of Decatur will be Thursday June 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne Newby officiating. Burial will be in Ryan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mr. Greene, who died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation, was born July 1, 1927, in Union Grove to the late Carl Sidney Greene Sr. and Clara Walter Greene. He was a deacon and member of Central Baptist Church in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Thomason and his wife, Annie Lou Porch Greene.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Greene; one grandson, Chris Parker and wife, Monja; two granddaughters, Deddra Stephens and husband, Alan, and Sarah Bedford and husband, Troy; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Thomas; and two brothers, John Greene and Kenneth Greene.
