Carl Tidwell, 88, of Killen died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his residence.
Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2013, at Elkins East Chapel from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Bro. Stan Dean officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tidwell was a member of Killen Church of Christ. He was retired from Union Carbide.
Mr. Tidwell is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred Christine Tidwell; two sons, Glenn Tidwell (Sandra) and Jerry Tidwell (Judy); sister, Joanne Forsythe; grandchildren, Melanie Herndon (Phil), Suzette Allen (Brian), Kelly Hobbs (Jay), and Haley Brink (Wes); great-grandchildren, Carson Jennings Hobbs, Hannah Reese Hobbs, and Madelyn Grace Brink; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phil Herndon, Brian Allen, Wes Brink, Jay Hobbs, Joey Gist, and Jeff Walton.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to special friends, Chris and Richard Smith; and Leigh Moody with Amedisys Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital.
