Carol Street Goforth, 77, of Athens passed away on December 28, 2024 at Huntsville hospital. She will have a visitation on Friday January 3, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Ridout's Brown-Service chapel. A service will follow and burial will be at Decatur city cemetery. With Rev. Preceded in death by parents: P.C.Goforth, Jr. and Dody Goforth.Survived by sister Judith Galligan, niece Becca Galligan, grand nieces Brynlee and Skylar Adams.
Graduated Decatur High School, Auburn University and Athens State College, achieving B.S, M.S. degrees.
Retired from Decatur City Park and Recreation after years of service to the youth of the city.
She followed her Lord into the Ministry and had another opportunity to serve people. Most recently in Chestnut Grove UMC, in New Hope, AL.
The Emassas Community was also very integral to her life. Pallbearers will be Daryl Randolph, Steve Berryhill, Bob Druzynski, Jack Lawrence, Conrad Bonner, Blake Denny.
