SPEAKE Carol Ann Owens, age 58, of Speake, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. A Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Funeral Home Chapel with Carrold Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Ms Owens was born Feb. 27, 1958, in Moulton to Irvin J. Owens and Margaret A. Baker Owens. Both precede her in death. She is also preceded by two brothers, Joe Owens and Irvin Delain Owens; three sisters, Judy Owens, Rebecca "Becky" Owens, Sandra Owens Mills; and preceded by her brother- in-law, Randall Mills.
Carol was a graduate of Speake High School. She worked at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee as well as several other VA Hospitals throughout the U.S. Carol was a former employee of Decatur General Hospital in Decatur, Alabama, Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, International Paper and Charter Peachford Hospital. She developed many cherished friendships with families and co-workers along the way that became forever a part of her heart''s song.
Carol is survived by one niece, Jennifer Mills Johnston and her husband, Clay; three cousins, Marie Baker Morton, Denise Baker Sellars, and Dale Baker Milan.
