Cassie Maye Wooden age 74 of Killen passed on September 28, 2011. Visitation will be Saturday October 1, 2011 at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence from Noon till 2pm. Services will follow in the Chapel at 2pm. Officiating will be Shawn Smith. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery. Cassie was survived by one son, Gerald Wooden of Frankfurt Germany. Three daughters, Emily Wade of Killen, Janice James and husband Gary of Killen, and Tommie Thigpen and husband Mark of Killen. Grandchildren, Jessica Wade of Decatur, Joshua Wade and wife Michelle of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, James "Jamie" Wade and wife Rebecca of Decatur, Marcus Wooden of Lorsch Germany, Sarah Robertson of Killen, Amanda Frye and husband Aaron of Killen, Zack Thigpen of Sheffield, James Thigpen of Killen, and Jenna Thigpen of Killen. Great grandchildren, Lizzie Robertson, Sayler Robertson and Pyson Frye. Brother, Rual Cornelius and wife Joan of New Hope. Sister, Deborah King and husband Billy of Moulton. And numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband James T. Wooden Jr., Father and Mother, Elmer N. and Gladys B. Cornelius. Nine brothers and one sister. Mrs. Wooden was a member of East Florence Church of Christ, retired from Humana Hospital Florence, and a former employee of Sears, Regency Square Mall. Special thanks to Dr. Mitch Bowen, Dr. Anthony Kalliath, Dr. Timothy Webb and Hospice of the Shoals. Pallbearers will be Joshua Wade, Jamie Wade, James Thigpen, Aaron Frye, Matthew Cornelius and Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Thigpen, Marcus Wooden and Pyson Frye.
