Catherine Marie Watkins, loving mother and grandmother passed away on July 1, 2023.  She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law:  Bayne and Vickie Vaughan of Decatur, AL, and Mark and Lori Forester of South Carolina.  She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jay and Bentley Vaughan of Decatur, and Taylor, Catherine, and Hayley Forester of South Carolina, and six great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings - all of whom were born and raised in Decatur.  "Aunt Marie" was loved dearly by many nieces and nephews.

Born December 29, 1928, Marie Watkins was a lifelong resident of Decatur, and she was an active member of Central Baptist Church.  She found much joy in the music ministry and fellowship there.

A graveside service will be held for family on Saturday, July 8th, 11:00 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery.   Memorials to honor Marie may be made to Community Free Clinic of Decatur.
