Cecil Carolyn (Murphy) Davis, 92, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 12-2 PM at Wesley Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elkins Funeral Home will be assisting the family.

Mrs. Davis was a lifetime member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from the state of Alabama in 1990 where she served as an elementary education teacher for over 25 years. She graduated from Central High school in 1950 and from Florence State Teachers College in 1954. Through the years, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir, playing Rook with family and friends and attending and supporting local sports events. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and all collegiate sports for the Crimson Tide.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Caroll Murphy and Delijah "Tot" (Peeler) Murphy and baby sister – Baby Murphy; husband of 70 years, Charles Neal Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Cathy Calloway and Dan Davis (Gail); grandson, Alex Davis; sister, Sue Stevens (Charles); beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lymon Mitchell, Dr. Pam Hill, the staff at NAMC and Mitchell-Hollingsworth for their dedicated care of Carolyn.
