Cecil F. Steen's Obituary
Cecil F. Steen, 96, of Rogersville, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Hilltop Assisted Living. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday at Elkins East Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Collins officiating. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
A World War II veteran of the US Army, Mr. Steen retired from TVA and was a member and deacon of Elgin Crossroads Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Chris Steen (Carolyn) of Rogersville and Richard Steen (Jo Ann) of Athens; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mae Wee Steen; infant daughter, Suzanne; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Corey Steen, Kevin Steen, Michael Steen, Steven Burchell, Stacey Childress, and Doug Burchell.
Special thanks are given to Dr. David Hollis and his staff, and the staffs of North Alabama Hospice and Hilltop Assisted Living.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans.
