Obituary

BILL COCHRAN

Charles William "Bill" Cochran III, of Florence, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

The celebration of Bill''s life will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Florence with the Rev. Robert Sparkman and the Rev. Gary Formby officiating. A time of visitation will be held in the church atrium from 11:00-1:00 p.m.
The committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Greenview Cemetery.

Bill was a retired Attorney and Alabama Administrative Law Judge and a legal representative for the Lauderdale County Department of Human Resources. He served as Secretary of the YMCA Board of Directors for over 30 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and its Men''s Bible Class. He was a long-time member of the Florence Rotary Club.

Bill graduated from the University of Alabama and the Alabama School of Law and served in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Parkhurst Cochran; children Parke Cochran (Julie) of Florence and Katie Cochran of Birmingham; grandchildren Charlie, Parkhurst and Rosemary Cochran; sisters Sue Copeland (Malcolm) of Ahoskie, NC and Nancy Windsor of Birmingham; sisters-in-law Pat Barger (Dan) of Florence and Sarah Blankenship (Michael) of Harvest, AL; brother-in-law Dr. A.E. Joiner (Penny) of Florence; nieces and nephews Ann Cooke, Alan Copeland, Ashleigh Lee, Lisa Heberlein, Greg Windsor, Corrie Summerville, William Parkhurst, Huston Parkhurst, Stephanie Mohr, Adam Jacobson, Amy Jacobson, Ashley Joiner, Ann Collins Joiner and Aaron Joiner; a number of great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Paul Newton, Dr. Gil Griggs, Greg Watson, William Parkhurst, Huston Parkhurst, Mike Stockard, Frank Stockard and Joe Summerville.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men''s Bible Class, "The Beach Boys", and Robert Redd.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the YMCA of the Shoals Building Fund, United Cerebal Palsy of Northwest Alabama or a charity of your choice.
