Charles Q. Cutshaw, 69, of Florence died Sunday at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011, from 5:30-8:30PM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 10AM at Elkins Funeral Home, with Father Andrew Sullivan officiating with Chief Mark Parker giving the eulogy. Mr. Cutshaw will lie-in-state from 9-10AM. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Cutshaw served his country as an U.S. Army officer in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star. Then had a distinguished civilian career with the U.S. Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia. Mr. Cutshaw went on to become a successful author for numerous weapons publications and a Killen Reserve Police Officer. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Cutshaw. Mr. Cutshaw is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Cutshaw; daughter, Andrea Cutshaw; step-daughter, Gabrielle Keel; two step-sons, Daniel Keel and Don Keel; honorary sons, Jeremy Stafford and Hal Howard; grandson, Isaiah and numerous other grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Cutshaw and family would prefer donations to go towards his two favorite charities in his name.
