Charles Roy Morris, 85, of Rogersville died Friday, December 23, 2011, at his residence. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Lynn Butler and Bro. Jeff Trousdale officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery. Mr. Morris was a member of Elgin Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He helped maintain Butler Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed reading books, raising cattle, gardening, selling produce, playing dominoes, and eating at Bonnie''s Caf. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Morris; parents, Charles Harry and Fannie Bell Sledge Morris; brother, Johnny Morris; sister, Idell Edwards. Mr. Morris is survived by his three sons, Larry Morris (Brenda), Ronnie Morris (Janice), and Tim Morris (Melissa); brother, Sterling Morris; five grandchildren, Clint Morris, Rhi Smith (BJ), Sara Morris, Tyler Morris (Sommer), and Carla Trapp (Kyle); two great-grandchildren, Madylin and Konner Trapp. Pallbearers will be Clint Morris, Tyler Morris, Butch Morris, Dennis Patterson, Lee Aday, B. J. Smith, and Kyle Trapp. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Webb and the Hospice Nurses especially Nicole and Cathy.
