Funeral for Charles Oberd Roper, 55, of Decatur will be Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with I V Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 12:30 p.m. until service time. Mr. Roper; who died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at his residence, was born November 19, 1956, in Decatur. He retired from Goodyear in Decatur. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Andrew Roper Jr and his father, James Andrew Roper Sr. Survivors include his mother, Edna Huddleston Roper; brother, Truman Glasscock; and sister, Joyce Rehms. Pallbearers will be Roger Davis, Todd Davis, Steve Drake, Wesley Carlisle, Wesley Robinson and Truman Glasscock.
