Clarris A. Hargett Jr.

Graveside services for Clarris A. Hargett Jr., formerly of Decatur, will be today, March 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Brother Tom Campbell of Shady Grove Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Hargett died March 5, 2013. He was 82 years old.
Mr. Hargett was born and raised in Decatur. He served his country during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he worked briefly at Chemstrand. During a layoff there, he moved to Michigan where he worked for Buick until his retirement in 2000 at the age of 70 years.
Mr. Hargett was a Christian trusting the blood of Jesus to cleanse him from his sins. His family is thankful for the hope of being reunited with him for eternity.
Mr. Hargett was preceded in death by his wife of five years, Mai Miller Hargett; his father, Clarris Aubrey Hargett; his mother, Louie Elizabeth Hames Hargett; one sister, Mary Sue Hargett Jordan; and one brother, James Edward Hargett.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Jennifer Miller and her son, AJ and a stepson, Vince Miller and his wife, Sandy. Also, remaining are his two sisters, Marjorie Hargett Jones and husband Bill, of Greenville, Miss., and Frances Hargett Whitehead of Iuka, Miss.; and one brother, Billy Wayne Hargett and his wife, Janice.
