Claude Thomas "Tommy" Harlan age 67 of Florence passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, November 30, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel, with Bro. William Sharp officiating.
Mr. Harlan attended Wood Avenue Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Bradshaw High School, he was a machinist, welder, and dye maker. He loved hunting, fishing, horses, pole vaulting, NASCAR racing and Alabama Football. He collected knives and NASCAR memorabilia. When he moved to South Dakota he did pheasant hunting and snow mobile riding. He was a loving father and still after 34 years still called me his "Little Girl" he was the best father a girl could have. He loved his granddaughters Makenzie Harlan and Rylan Holt. He loved his dogs.
Mr. Harlan was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Leon Harlan and Minnie Maxine Harlan; brother, Max Cox Harlan.
Mr. Harlan is survived by his daughter, Casey Harlan Holt (Jeremy); step-son, Gabriel Statom; grandchildren, Makenzie Harlan and Rylan "RT" Thomas Holt; sisters, Connie Sharp (Albert), Judy Grubbs (Randy), and Janet Lawson (Dennis); several nieces and nephews.
