Mr. I. J. Hill, 92, born October 27th, 1918, died Wednesday January 19th, 2011, with his family by his side.
The funeral services will be at Friday, January 21st, at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 A.M. until service time. He will be buried in the adjoining cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Robert Huffaker.
Mr. Hill was a native of Lauderdale County, Alabama, a member of Labor Union Local #366, and retired from TVA with 20 years of employment. He served his country in the Second United States Armored Division during World War II from August 6th, 1940 until June 30th, 1945.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mary Ruth Cabler Hill, parents; James Edward Hill, and Louisa Sarah Jane Swinney Hill, sisters; Algie Mae Hill Clemmons, Elsie Belle Hill Behel, and brothers; James Hulen Hill, Marvin Oscar Hill, and Stanley Keffor Hill.
He is survived by daughters; Brenda Miller and husband Berns, Marcia Thompson and husband Jerome, Mary (Doddie) Maxwell and husband Paul, sons; James (Buddy) Hill, Larry Hill, Danny Hill and wife Diane, Rickey Hill and wife Wanda, sister; Virginia Lee Hill Bolin, 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brandon Miller, Chyne Jones, Chris Hill, Mitch Hill, Clint Hill, Tim Hill, Richey Hill, and Nick Maxwell.
