Clura Mae Lovelace, age 101, of Cloverdale, went to be with her Lord on Friday January 30, 2009.
Funeral services will be on Monday February 2, 2009 at 2 pm at Elkins Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Perry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends on that day from 12 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lovelace is preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer A. Lovelace; her children, James G. Lovelace and Cornelia Byrd; her parents, Garfield and Mattie Ballentine; her sister, Vivian Womble; and her brother, Odell Ballentine. She was the oldest member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ. Mrs. Lovelace was a loving mother and grandmother and had many, many friends.
Mrs. Lovelace is survived by her daughter, Betty Sherrod and husband Alfred of Florence; her son, Kenneth Lovelace and wife JoAnn; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Junior Byrd, Marty Morrison, Michael Sherrod, Larry W. Sherrod, Randy Byrd, and Derrell Pollard.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
