Daina Sue French Stewart Decatur
Funeral for Daina Sue French Stewart, 70, of Decatur, will be Sunday, March 13, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Austinville Church of God with Wymon Logan and Barry Sempsrott officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home directing.Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stewart, who died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital, was born June 12, 1940, in Tuscumbia to Robert B. French Sr. and Nina Lois Sibley French. She was an Austinville High Graduate, class of 1958 and was the Health Room Nurse at Grace Baptist Elementary School. She was a devoted mother and servant of God. She baked a mean pecan pie and gave them as gifts. She was a member of Austinville Church of God for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jan Stewart.
Survivors include one son, Winston Jerry "Jay" Stewart Jr. and wife, Donna; three daughters, Donna Campbell and husband, Greg, Julie Stewart and Rebecca Salmonson and husband, Matt; one brother, Robert French Jr.; three sisters, Dot Phillips, Hester Bennich and Becky Barry; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
